Male Great amp for subwoofer. Okay, so I am not a “pro” audio installer it is just a hobby that allows me to putter around, play with solder and copper wire, and hurt my ears. With that said, I am on a pretty tight budget so even the “cheap” components put a dent in my wallet, forcing me to make my purchases over time. I selected it based on bluetooth connectivity and DIN size. Radio reception is pretty typical. Bluetooth connectivity for phone calls has a thin, tinny sound at the other end, but of course it sounds really good in the passenger cabin when it comes through all of the speakers. I actually have a philosophical objection to phone calls in a vehicle, so I don’t use it. It shines for me as a bluetooth receiver for my media player; no noise or distortion, instant connection once paired, and reliable while connected. I haven’t had a bluetooth battle royale to see if a passenger’s device will disconnect mine, but maybe someday in the future I will find out for certain. The EQ presets are pretty darned limited, but if you do what I did and pair it with an external equalizer, then everything will be fine for you.

In this case you could connect one speaker to each connector. And twice the sound!
But what if you need to connect more than one speaker to a single speaker output connector on your power amplifier or powered mixer? If you have just a single speaker output, it would be nice to be able to connect two speakers to it, one for each side of the stage. But where do we connect the additional speaker s? This all assumes you are using a power amplifier to drive passive speakers in the classic manner.
Tech Tip: Wattage, Speaker Efficiency, and Amplifier “Loudness”
How you decide to do it will depend on the ohm rating of the subs’ voice coils You want to have as high an impedance as possible but still get the amount of output you desire from the amplifier. Here are some scenarios, as I am not going to go to the audiobahn website to look up those sub specs: You can use either of the above wiring configurations depending on the output you want from the amp.
For the common, two subs, one amp install, the only real variation you’ll run into is the impedance level of the subs (ohms) and the channels on the amp. In this video we show you the easy way to repair a JBL H speaker with our recone kit.

Integrated amplifiers Looking back at the signal chain music must pass through, the next area to consider is the pre-amplifier. A stereo integrated amplifier is essentially a pre-amp and power amp in one box. A dedicated stereo amplifier will give a cleaner sound, due to it containing less electronics that can cause interference. It will have its own power supply, again giving better performance. The laws of economics also help us: Finally, for stereo sound the AV receiver will not be used at all and can be switched off, which can save electricity.

Amplifiers that are 2 ohms stable produce more power resulting in more volume. This amp can comfortably power speakers or subwoofers with all channel s being used at a load of 2 ohms. We have developed a specific linear circuitry that further reduces distortion while increasing both sound quality and power output. High and Low Level Inputs An amplifier with both high-level and low-level inputs provides flexibility by allowing you to build an audio system using virtually any standard factory or aftermarket source unit.
High-level speaker level inputs accept the signal from the speakers, while low-level RCA inputs accept the signal from the pre-amp outputs of the source unit. Protection If the amplifier gets too hot, the thermal protection circuit turns the amp off and allows the amp to cool down before turning it back on. If a speaker fails causing an electrical short, the protection circuit will automatically cut the output and remain in that state until the short is resolved.
These safety features give you peace of mind knowing the amplifier is constantly monitoring conditions to protect itself. Subwoofer Level Control The ability to boost or attenuate the sub level when an amp and subwoofer are connected to the subwoofer pre-amp output. Variable Gain Control Variable Gain Control lets you balance the amps output with the speakers or subs the amp is driving. To much gain will lead to distortion and to little will lead to clipping.

What is a 2 channel amplifier? A 2 channel aplifier is an amplifier that can operate two channels. It is basically two 1-channel amplifiers in a single box. This unit is usually intended for operating a left speaker and a right speaker. A… ‘Stereo’ audio system typically has a left channel and a right channel. More advanced audio systems may have separate channels for different types of speakers midrange, woofer, tweeter, very commonly subwoofer, sometimes supertweeter or for rear channels surround.
This sort of setup was modern during the early 90s. A bridged 2 channel amplifier is constructed in such a way that the amplifiers can be set up to operate inline providing the effect of a more powerful one-channel amplifier. If durability is a concern, a bridgeable two channel amplifier used for two channels tends to work well because it’s likely to have higher quality or just more diodes so as not to be destroyed too quickly during bridged operation.
Using a more powerful amplifier with the gain turned down is also a good idea if longevity is a concern.

Male Pushing the envelope Nice amp, but the power out specs are pushing the envelope a little. What I found was the amp starts clipping at approximately the voltage feeding the amp. For a 12 volt input, this corresponds to a 24 volt peak to peak output voltage to the speaker. Clipping means the output goes no higher and flattens out.
I opened up the unit there goes the warranty and found it contains a switching power supply, that basically doubles the input voltage to the output transistors.
May 06, · Esentially the higher power amps will create cleaner power down low where as if you buy a lower powered amp you need to turn up the volume/power and this also creates dirty sound. You need to buy a amp that’ll produce at least rms at the ohm load you’ll be using (4 or 2 ohm).Status: Resolved.
One thing I learned pretty early in life is that speakers are not meant to be wired together in a haphazard manner. In fact, whenever you plan to connect more than two speakers to a two-channel amplifier — or more than four speakers to a four-channel amp — there are a few things to consider, not the least of which is the amps ability to handle low-impedance loads. Ignoring the basics is like playing Russian roulette with your amplifier: If youre lucky, itll drive the speakers without incident; if youre not, the amp will fry.
The great thing about a multiple-speaker hookup is that once you master only two basic wiring procedures — “series” and “parallel” — the world is yours to conquer. When you know how many speakers youre going to use and the impedance driving capability of your amplifier, youll be able to select a wiring scheme that will deliver the best sonic and electrical results. In some cases, it may not be one procedure or the other but a combination of the two that works best.
Speakers in Series The essence of series wiring is really quite simple: When speakers are connected in this fashion, load impedance increases — the more speakers, the higher the impedance. The most common reason for wanting to raise impedance is to lower acoustical output, as in the case of rear-fill or center-channel speakers. Speaker output declines because the amplifiers power output decreases as the load impedance increases. While you can connect any number of speakers in series, try to keep the total equivalent-load impedance for each channel below 16 ohms, since most amps are not designed to handle higher loads.
Figure 1A demonstrates how to wire a pair of speakers in series.

Middlebury,Indiana Found this tid bit on the Prosoundweb. Hope this helps in some way. Power amplifiers are rated for power generation. A bigger number is generally better as it indicates the potential for the amplifier to do more work.
2. Using RCA patch cables, connect the appropriate channel from the source output to the amplifier input. 3. For a mono line-level signal, use the left channel line-level input. Daisy-chaining APAs 1. Connect the line-level input from source device as above. 2.
